Chargestation Connection

How to setup and connect your chargestation to eDRV

eDRV Architecture

Open Charge Point Protocol (OCPP)

eDRV supports all OCPP compatible charging stations. OCPP is the messaging protocol standard supported globally by almost all charge station manufacturers.

The Open Charge Alliance (OCA) is a global consortium of public and private electric vehicle infrastructure leaders that have come together to promote open standards through the adoption of the Open Charge Point Protocol (OCPP).

The eDRV supports chargestations running the following versions of OCPP:

  • OCPP 1.6J
  • OCPP 2.0.1

Connecting your Chargestation to eDRV

Before connecting your OCPP compatible chargestation to eDRV you must get the connection URL and Endpoint. See Chargestation Setup on how to get your connection URL.

  • Point your chargestation to eDRV using the connection URL copied above. Note the exact process of configuring your chargestation back end URL will differ by manufacturer. Here is a screenshot from an Alfen EV Proline configuration utility called the "ACE Service Installer"
  • Configure the charge station Id in you manufacturer provided chargestation config dashboard / web app / mobile app
