RFID for Drivers

RFID tokens allow drivers to operate charging sessions without having to open the driver App, just a simple swipe over the charger can start or stop the transaction. This document will detail how to add and assign RFID tokens.

Adding the RFID Code

Swipe the RFID code to any charge station connected to the OCPP backend. The code will be rejected by the OCPP backend and an email will arrive to support with the scanned RFID token (This step is optional, if you already have the RFID token you can skip to next step)

Assigning an RFID to a User

Copy the unrecognized RFID scanned and navigate to https://app.edrv.io/#/tokens. On the tokens page click "Add" (Top right corner), paste the scanned code and select the desired user.

The code should be on "enabled" status in order to validate a scanned token

RFID and User Wallet

Now that the user has an enabled RFID token, they can start and stop charging sessions just by swiping the RFID card on the charge station. The transaction will validate if enough balance is available on the user's wallet. If the balance is not enough, you should get an email notification providing a link to the user's wallet

Add balance to your wallet using your preferred payment method and try to start the charging session again

Controlling transactions

When the user starts a charging session by swiping the RFID token an email should arrive containing information about the started session and providing a link to the current's session web page.

After clicking on the link you will be redirected to the session web page and will have the following information available

In order to stop current charging session the user can swipe the RFID token or use the "Stop Charging" button on the web session screen
